Lesson 5 of 8 · Pronunciation
Make pronunciation easier to follow
Focus on stress, chunking and clear endings rather than copying a particular accent.
1
Stress the information words
Nouns, main verbs and contrast words often carry the message. Giving every word equal weight can hide the important information.
2
Speak in thought groups
Group words that express one idea, then make a small boundary before the next group. This supports both rhythm and listener comprehension.
3
Keep useful word endings
Plural, past-tense and third-person endings can change meaning. Slow down slightly when an ending is repeatedly lost; clarity matters more than speed.
Next-attempt checklist
- Stress key meaning words.
- Group one idea together.
- Keep grammatical endings audible.
