Lesson 3 of 8 · Part 2

Shape a two-minute long turn

Use the preparation minute to create a route through the topic, not a written script.

1

Plan a route

Write three or four keywords for a beginning, development and ending. Full sentences take too long to prepare and encourage reading rather than speaking.

2

Anchor the story

Give the listener a clear person, place or moment early. Specific context makes later details easier to understand and remember.

3

Connect details to the point

The cue-card bullets are support, not separate mini-answers. Link them into one account and finish by explaining why the topic mattered to you.

Next-attempt checklist

  • Plan keywords, not a script.
  • Establish context early.
  • Link the bullets into one account.

Check and rehearse

Choices and notes remain only in this page. They are not recorded, uploaded or scored by AI. They are not saved to an account.

1. What is the best preparation note?
2. What helps the listener follow a story?
3. How should cue-card bullets be used?

Choose one answer for every question, then check.
