Lesson 7 of 8 · Grammar

Balance grammar range and control

Use sentence variety that serves the idea, then repair small errors without abandoning the answer.

1

Start with a controlled sentence

A clear simple sentence can establish the main point. Add a dependent clause or comparison when it expresses a real relationship.

2

Vary structure for meaning

Use because for cause, although for contrast and if for conditions. Complexity is useful when it connects ideas accurately, not when it merely makes a sentence longer.

3

Notice repeat errors

After practice, choose one recurring feature such as verb endings or articles. A focused second attempt is more manageable than trying to correct every grammar point at once.

Next-attempt checklist

  • Give every clause a clear subject and verb.
  • Choose links for meaning.
  • Target one repeat error in the next attempt.

Check and rehearse

Choices and notes remain only in this page. They are not recorded, uploaded or scored by AI. They are not saved to an account.

1. When is a complex sentence useful?
2. Which linker normally introduces contrast?
3. What is a practical review target?

Choose one answer for every question, then check.
